Education & Career

Photini graduated from City University London in 2000 with First Class Honours and was recognised as best performing LLB graduate of the year. She also achieved the highest academic award in Banking Law.

In 2001 she obtained the title of Barrister-at-Law from the Inns of Court in London as a member of the Middle Temple of England.

In 2002 she obtained her Master’s degree (LLM) from University College London in Maritime Law with Distinction.

In 2003 she was granted her license to practice Law by the Legal Council of Cyprus and has since been a member of the Cyprus Bar Association.

In 2005 she became a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (MCIArb).

Photini is a partner and a director  at Costas Tsirides & Co LLC.

Areas of Expertise

Her practice focuses mainly on Advocacy, Banking Law, Administrative Law, Maritime Law, Construction Law and arbitration. She also acts as a legal consultant in commercial transactions in both the private and public sectors.

Positions/Appointments

From 2016 to December 2018 she served as a member of the board of directors of the Cyprus Ports Authority, where she participated, among other committees, as a member of the privatization committee.

In December 2018 she was appointed by the Council of Ministers as Vice-Chairwoman of the Cyprus Stock Exchange, a position she held until May 2021 when she was elected as a member of the Cyprus Parliament. She holds the position of Deputy Chairperson of the House Standing Committee on Legal Affairs, Justice and Public Order. She is a member of the House Standing Committee on Transport, Communications and Works, Labour, Welfare, Social Insurance, Human Rights and Equal Opportunities for Men and Women.

From 2015 until today she serves as the President of the Association of Friends of the Centre of Preventive Pediatrics.
